I’m Associate Professor at the Department of Government (University of Vienna). I also hold a position as FWF Hertha Firnberg scholar at the same university on a project on the consequences of coalition government compromise on public opinion. Before I held an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position at the Department of Political and Social Sciences at the University of Bologna. From 2013 to 2018 I was Assistant Professor (post-doc) at the Department of Government (University of Vienna).
In 2020 I have been awarded an ERC StG grant to examine the meanings of ‘voting’ for ordinary citizens, their causes and consequences. The project started in January 2021 and will last 5 years.
I completed my Ph.D. dissertation at the Department of Political Science at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland in November 2013 under the supervision of Professors Michael Marsh and Kenneth Benoit.
My Ph.D. dissertation focused on electoral behaviour under mixed-member electoral systems and it has been awarded the ECPR Jean Blondel PhD prize for the best thesis in Politics in 2014.
My main research interests include comparative electoral behaviour, coalition governments, representation and research methodologies.
